As we celebrate Canada’s birthday on July 1st, we are absolutely thrilled to welcome back our owners to Woodbine Racetrack. We can’t thank you enough for your patience over the past 15 months. It hasn’t been the same without you and your investment and patience are greatly appreciated.
For Owners, here is what you need to know for now:
Racetrack Apron: As of Thursday, July 1st, Woodbine is opening its racetrack apron for owners (and spectators) to watch live racing with capacity restrictions based on government guidelines, but reservations are required. We will share more information shortly about how and when you can make a reservation on OpenTable.com. Please contact Martha Wakely, Manager Racing Operations and Concierge with any issues or for information at mwakely@woodbine.com. Seating in the second floor Owners boxes will be accessible from the apron stairs, for current box holders. Unfortunately, at this time, we are not able to permit owners into the indoor saddling paddock.
Patio Dining: As of Thursday, July 1st, the Patio at Champions (3rd floor) will also be open, and owners can reserve a table through the OpenTable.ca to watch live racing while enjoying a new Food and Beverage menu that will be offered this season. A certain number of seats will be reserved for owners, and we will be in contact shortly about how and when you can make a reservation on OpenTable.com. Please contact Martha Wakely for further information regarding reservations for the Patio at Champions.
Backstretch Access for Owners: We also look forward to welcoming back our owners to the backstretch as of June 30.
Licensed owners who wish to enter the backstretch must pre-register for a Woodbine Backstretch Access Card (NEW in 2021). All owners will be receiving through email an Access Rights Consent Form that needs to be completed in order to be issued a new Access Card. In addition, owners will also need to upload a photo to the form. All completed forms need to be sent to Robert Jordan at RJordan@Woodbine.com. Alternatively, owners may contact Woodbine Entertainment Security at 416-675-3993 ext 2303 to book an appointment on a first come first served basis in order to complete their Access Control Consent Form, have their photo taken and be issued their Access Control Card. Please be advised that Access Control Cards will only be issued with an active and valid AGCO license.
Please note all COVID-19 protocols are in place in the backstretch including wearing a mask at all times and keeping at least six feet from others. Enhanced Screening is currently mandatory for anyone accessing the Backstretch who has not been vaccinated with at least 1 dose. Further information regarding our Enhanced Screening Program will be emailed to all owners on Friday, June 25 along with the Access Control Consent Forms.
