On Tuesday, King’s Plate winner PARAMOUNT PRINCE will attempt to win the second jewel of Canada’s Triple Crown (sponsored by OLG), Fort Erie’s Prince of Wales, and should the Society’s Chairman gelding do it, it would launch Ontario racing into the headlines as the Mark Casse trainee heads to the Breeders’ next month.

A field of 12 has been entered for the ‘Wales, which is 1 3/16 miles and slightly shorter than the Plate. Paramount Prince and jockey Patrick Husbands drew post 8. The prospect of a wet track may make things even more interesting in the second jewel of the Triple Crown, as most of the starters have never raced on the dirt or on a wet track.
